This is the 82nd solo of the Month (SotM) Challenge.

The challenge is now open and ends at midnight 24th May 2022.

Discussion:
This backing track was kindly provided by @susbemol

You can download backing track from Soundcloud below:

Record your solo over the top of it and then submit it (ideally in mp3 format) to solos@theFB.co.uk. Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.

Title: "Groover Manoeuvre"

There should be headroom to record your solo. Try to set a level without excessive master limiting, because we want to avoid loudness wars.

Voting will start soon after the submission deadline, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.
First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point
The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends.

No prizes. It's just for fun.

As people submit their entries, I'll post them below to hopefully promote some discussion on approaches used for the solo:

    Well this one's certainly a handful. I'm not sure whether to wing it by ear or delve into some theory. Perhaps a mixture of the two.

    And then there's the rhythm to contend with: follow it, play around it or just float over the top of it?

    It's not a competition.

    It is a beauty this one. Had all day on it and I've got ideas for most of it. Not easy by any stretch.

    Sent mine in. Went with a Les Paul on the Bridge with the tone rolled off a bit. Vox Model Amp in GuitarRig5, delay and Reverb.

    Very funky backing, nice one @susbemol ;

    Sent one in.

    Whilst @susbemol 's track was superbly made, mixed, recorded, played and sounded very professional especially with the tight drums matching the phrasing, but for me I found the dissonance of the chords so grating with my brain I struggled to loop over it for too long.  So my approach was to find the most dissonant grating patch I had in my rig and hit record.  :astonished:

    submitted...Another quality backing track, such a change from the last one!  I thought at first I'd try playing through the game show theme-seque changes in an attempt at fusion - soon abandoned that idea lol and decided to keep it simple and just play it loud :)

    @stratman3142 ;
    I've had a stab at making a backing track for a future SOTM if you need one.

    A reminder that entry closes at midnight 24th May 2022. So only a couple of days to go.

    @susbemol I just wondered if you need a nudge, as it's your excellent backing track.

    It's not a competition.

    I've had lots going on in the last couple of weeks so I haven't even looked at this. Don't know if I can enter this time but I'll try.
