Weird Audacity Problem

Was trying to record a VoiceOver for my wife but when we played it back Audacity appeared to speed it up!

Set up is MacBook Air > usb C to USB  converter (I tried 2 different ones) > Zoom H1N mic

Worked fine with a Dell laptop into the USB socket

Didn't have time to troubleshoot as we were rushed but any ideas? Couldn't see where I might have accidentally sped up Audacity playback

I used the Zoom as a microphone rather than a recorder and didn’t touch any settings between recording and playback.
