Truly the Leo Fender of synths. A huge loss. They  just brought back the Oberheim brand with Tom last month.

RIP - inventor of midi if im not mistaken, which still holds strong as a format today. Owned a prophet 6 and it was stellar synth.
He also argued that midi could not be branded to one company, including his own, but was to be a shared protocol for musicians to benefit from. So sudden.
