I've got it on very quiet, with the office cleaners hoovering in the background.  Not ideal.  But I'm here.
The office cleaners just called.  They'd like you to turn it up.

As for "when am I ready?"  You'll never be ready.  It works in reverse, you become ready by doing it.  - pmbomb

The name is familiar but I know nothing about this band..... a vague memory of seeing their names connected to some hippy type festivals in the 90's but might be wrong.....
I think that was post the best Wishbone Ash line-ups. This perios is very much when they were at their best I think.

They're all from somewhere Hispanic, they probably like salsa music or something.
Sorry, I shouldn't be stereotyping people.

Ted Turner had left the band at this time and gone on with his new band Ted Turner's Wishbone Ash. Lots of falling out who owned the band name. Andy Powell reckoned he did.

This is sounding very Eagles like, somehow? I've never knowingly listened to Wishbone Ash so not sure if that's expected

Here out of curiosity. Joining at track 2.

    Very 70s feel.

I never really know who plays what, guitar-wise, but Laurie Wisefield (this was his first album, for those who don't know) seemed to instantly give the band a rockier edge.

They're never "metal" though, barely even hard rock, but there's so much guitar in their music. :)

Ah, I read that this is produced by Bill Szymczyk - that might explain why it sounds like Eagles to me

I'm not sure about that cover art. The kind of thing that'd give a public schoolboy a hard on.

Yes I think it was his first with WA and he replaced Ted Turner. He plays the banjo on this album too. Andy Powell the Mandolin on this track.

I don't think Ted Turner ever set up his own Wishbone Ash, that was Martin Turner when he left in the early '90s.

But yes, lots of falling out!

  • I'm playing along to it.... there are a lot of chord changes... this reminds me of Rainbow.. but this was before them I know...... very nice solo there.....

Ah yes. Sorry that's right. The two Turners weren't related either.
