Please don’t over complicate them Strymon, simplicity is the key to current crop.

It looks like they've actually made them simpler in that previously you had to know a few "hold this down then x becomes y" type things which will be easier with an extra knob.

TRS MIDI is a total win for anyone who wants to integrate it with a switcher and opens up the ability to use an El Cap as a reverb pedal when you aren't using it as a delay etc and can simply be ignored by anyone who doesn't care.

Looks like new Deco has an extra control for normal or cassette mode and a tone knob for the saturation side.

Spring knob on the El Capistan is a good addition.

Mine would be on my board if it had MIDI presets and you could use the spring reverb on its own

  • Wow, this has been requested for YEARS! Would be an absolutely brilliant change to the feature set. Excellent news. Hope it's not fake.

Not seeing the overcomplication. They will work the same for those who need it and better for those who need it.

Yeah to be fair it does look sensible - I am allergic to midi though, but if on a mini trs and I don’t even have to stare at those din sockets then I could live with it. The spring knob would be great.

They're also adding MIDI functionality (loads of switchable presets?) and USB (future update potential?)

I'm not particularly fussed as I don't need the extra stuff on my beloved Deco. That said, this will definitely get them a chunk of new revenue from guys who've owned these pedals for years and don't need a spare, but have FOMO about the new features.

Wonder if they've tweaked the algorithms. That would be kind of risky. Maybe they'll up the sample rate

It is indeed, a bias and bass cut knob would have been just as useful imo - it's a pain having to try and set those when I consider them pretty important! I clearly need to try a Volante.

A 'shift' button might have been a good alternative to more knobs/trying to mash to footswitches down to access the extra functionality.

'Pre delay' on the Flint would have been handy

I've been half expecting the midi update and will probably hold off getting a second hand Dig now until these come out. This does open up a lot of possibilities, but does mean I'll probably end up upgrading the Deco, Flint and El cap and buying a MC6 at some point.

The extra knows are a fantastic addition, definitely agree with the shift function button comment above though, that would be very welcome. It's a shame the Flint isn't getting a Duty control for the tremolo, it would be amazing to be able to adjust the wave.

I guess it is the same but with USB and Midi.
