  • Q1:  Where did you username come from?

    From the film Reservoir Dogs

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

    Shropshire

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

I have played live before, both solo and with my mate Jan (who has the most wonderful voice) but suffer terribly from stagefright. I think it's me being too hard on myself, when the odd fluffed note or chord affects me. I need to be more relaxed.

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

The amp. Fender Princeton Chorus. Bloody lovely.

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

To play? Comfortably Numb (Big Log played by Robbie Blunt is a close second)

Q1:  Where did you username come from?

Used to play a lot of Marvel vs Capcom 3 in 2012 to get me through night shifts back then; always been a big comic book fan and started using the villain's name "SuperSkrull" online as a result, and never really moved away from it since!

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

Originally from the West Midlands but relocated to the East Midlands over 15 years ago

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

Well, the boat for being an International Rock Star has well and truly sailed away many, many years ago.  At present my musical ambition is to foster and model an environment for my kids to grow up with making music being an everyday part of their creative outlet (rather than expressing their creativity on my damn walls!)

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

My trusty TS-100 Soldering Iron!  This tiny piece of steel wielded by the right hand can give birth to any number of pedals, amps, guitars, synths, etc that you can imagine.

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

Shhh! My "always #1 track" is a secret!  For guitar though, my #1 track is probably Gary Moore's version of The Sky Is Crying from his Blues Alive LP

  • I’m 60 (a posh old bird), play guitar, piano and recently took up the harmonica

Q1:  Where did you username come from?

It’s my name! Although it didn’t used to be; I changed it legally a few years ago.

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

Originally from Oxford and now living in Lincolnshire

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

I don’t really have one. My son is a professional musician so I live my dreams through him

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Yamaha Classical Cedar top - it sounds so sweet for classical but plays great for blues, too

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

    Anything Keith Richards plays

  • Hi everyone :)

Q1:  Where did you username come from?

Loose reference to where we live

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

    Yorkshire, UK

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

To have fun and use playing the guitar as "decompression" and way of relaxing, without always trying to push too hard to get to somewhere just out of reach

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Um, "best" is an interesting word.  I guess I'll go with my LP, a treat to myself in 2008 and reminder that these things are "investments" (that's what I keep telling my other half, anyway ;) )

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

Such a tough question... but going to go with "Slither" by Velvet Revolver this morning, I think :)

  • Hello People! Nice to meet you!

Q1:  Where did your username come from?

Boring - it's just my real name :(

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

Poland, Cracow. It's not so far from London if you take a morning flight :D

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

I've been playing for 17 years. Now I'm at the point where I want to use my skills to express instead of to impress.

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Luthier made strat. I paid 1000 quid and couldn't wish for more. I choose it over my Fender masterbuilt or Tom Anderson

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

OMG. Just one? The Mars Volta - "Roulette Dares"

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

Still a beginner guitarist… so at the moment my main ambition is to progress a bit further and keep enjoying the journey

    Blonde Baja telecaster

  • Q1:  Where did you username come from?

Supplied by my 8 year old

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

    Hampstead, London

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

Aspire to noodling (used to play seriously in late teens / early 20s - multiple gigging bands and stuff, gave up after a trip to LA and seeing how good the 12-year olds were! Now a "returner")

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Nothing really - had a PRS back in the late 80s when they were new which would have qualified, but just commodity stuff at the moment

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

mmm... Lukathers solo on the 1990 live in paris version of georgy porgey springs to mind

  • Hi all, I've been a member for a couple of years but never introduced myself.

Q1:  Where did you username come from?

I’m a cyclist who started as a mountain biker before taking up road cycling. Mountain bikers used to refer to road cycling as the Dark Side.

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

Chester, UK. Soon to be Espoo, Finland.

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

Progression. I’ve picked up the guitar over the years and gone round in circles playing the same songs with the same chords.

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

My Telecast Player in limited Sienna Sunburst finish

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

Oooph. I’d say Waterfall by the Stone Roses (but it will change in the next couple of mins).

Hello all.  Long time lurker, inveterate gearhead, awful guitarist, slightly better bassist.  Decided to finally sign up after sticking two fingers up to Zuckerberg.

Q1.  Self-effacing nod to my bass skills.

    Q2.  Northampton, UK

Q3.  Absolutely none except to make lots of noise.

    Q4.  My custom Jaguar/Strat

Q5.  Blimey, that's a tough one... at a push, David Bowie - "Heroes".

Bear with me while I see if image links work...

    (oh bu88er)

    (try again)

    (I give in)

    (yay! it worked)

CoolCat here and just joined. I've been playing guitar, acoustic, for a number of years and decided that I would like to participate on a forum. I spent some time reviewing various forums to see what was out there and came across this site. I liked what I saw and read, so here I am.
