This was a great listen last night. It still sounds VERY 2002 to me but it equally takes me right back. Bands always have that one album that is a perfect storm and everything comes together and captures their essence and SFTD is it for QOTSA (even though I think that ...Like Clockwork (2013) is their best). But SFTD has so many moving parts with Grohl and Lanegan and Alain Johannes and Oliveri and it is just such a fantastic collection of their talents and differences.

There are some good videos out there on YouTube of the band actually recording it and Nick Valentine talking about producing it. 

I enjoyed this one! Nice to think about that time again! Thanks @roberty !

I fell asleep, but will spin it again tomorrow. and provide comprehensive thoughts. 

This was a big part of the soundtrack to my sixth form days, so I have some heavily rose-tinted specs on, but its a fabulous record.
