As for "when am I ready?"  You'll never be ready.  It works in reverse, you become ready by doing it.  - pmbomb

Not a big fan, I don't like what they do to the initial transient of a note. They feel very nice to bend on, but in all honesty no better than a well-shaped and polished fret.

I like Jescar frets a lot

They last much longer, however, the strings only last a matter of seconds.

Just had 'em put on my custom shop strat.
Haven't noticed any real difference with 'em personally - if there was any perceived brightness I could counter with my amp's tone controls?

What I do absolutely love is medium jumbo frets - they make it so much easier to play...

Yay to stainless frets. They make bending so easy.,...
I’ve got Evo Gold on a Strat and a Les Paul. They have added a touch more top end to the LP. But I prefer it.

I played a SS fretted Suhr modern a while ago. Acoustically I noticed more top end. But less so plugged in.

    ABSOLUTELY YES.

I tried a Prestige Ibanez and that kicked the butt of my S521 (a basic Ibanez), almost with as much ease as metaphorically having a cigarette in one hand and a beer in the other, and still winning.

Then I tried a Schecter that came with Stainless Steel frets as standard. Hands down the "lesser" Schecter was easier to play than the Prestige Ibanez. The Schecter won with a bit less ease against the Prestige, but none the less the fight was over in seconds.

    I am a convert.

I heard the difference and guessed correctly.  Subtle difference, hard to describe and not unpleasant in the examples given.

EVO gold is my preference. It is smooth for bending,
soft in colour, almost looks like nickel in some light.
     and ‘lasts forever’

I still haven't tried SS frets, I'd still like to.
    Ditto.

Presumably (correct me if I'm wrong) it means you can put the guitar in the dishwasher to clean it? That would be a big advantage.

Stainless steel frets have become one of the biggest attraction points for me when looking at a guitar listing, ever since I first tried them. They're a little brighter acoustically, but not through the amp, super smooth to play on and the cost saving of not needing them levelled or replaced is major for me.

I really like Aaron Cheney from Warmoth.  He's an excellent presenter and a great ambassador for the company.  Very professional but very personable and relaxed.  They chose well when they employed him as / promoted him to Marketing Director.

I've had a couple of guitars with them. They feel lovely and slinky to be honest. If anything actually could be described as playing like butter then it would be bends on stainless steel frets. Anyone who actually used that phrase would be shot at dawn though. I don't use them now though, I make my own guitars and I can't be arsed with all that hard work!
