They were originally sold as a student guitar which makes the prices nowadays seem ridiculous. However, as with anything, the price reflects what people are willing to pay.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

As stated what you see is the going rate everything is and will go up just a fact of life . I would suggest you check out the
Gibson original series LP junior really good and not expensive. I do have Gibson custom Shop guitars and the original series
     are really good.

Absurdly, Custom Shop Juniors are £3,500 now. I asked Peach if they could do a deal on one and they politely declined.

Did you ask them to throw in a set of strings?

No.  I'm sorry.  FB cliche alert.

Yep - this is a good topic to chat about, especially for us Junior aficionados.

Junior prices have shot up like everything else. CS prices now £3500 - such as at Peach - but elsewhere as well.

I sold my secondhand 2018 CS Junior last Christmas for more than the posters above have quoted and I think my European buyer got a fair deal. It was a gorgeously resonant example. I feel I should have held onto it. I've been waiting for another to pop up and there is a secondhand one now on Reverb for only a little bit more but I don't know whether to pull the trigger or not.

Even standard line Juniors are much dearer now. And they probably have slimmer necks. But then the resale price doesn't hold as much as CS models.

I do quite like the  "look" Jr DCs with the bound fretboard   -

Even non CS-stuff is high! I've got a DC Tribute Jr that I bought on sale a couple of years ago for £580, reduced from £799, which I thought was expensive for a 1-pickup Tribute model, and I was convinced I was going to see them popping up used for £400 a few months later and kick myself. It seems to have been the best purchase I've ever made, as I've yet to see one go for less than £550, and most seem to be up for £650-700. Nuts!

Popular Gibson models in very good condition generally change hands for about a third off the RRP. Back before the change of management, when Gibson had model years, you could often pick up a clearance model at 40-50% off RRP, just as the new models came into stock. Some of these were quickly sold off at RRP less 33%, giving the new owner a small profit on a guitar they hadn't bonded with. Most likely the new owner never buys new due to depreciation, and was oblivious to the lost opportunity to grab a bargain a few months before.

Your DC should keep going up in value in line with RRP rises, assuming the condition remains good. But sadly there are fewer opportunities to grab a Gibson bargain since Henry went.

I honestly dont know,   saw Rick Beato had one on one of his vids although it was blue (yuk) the bound fretboard gave it a bit more "classy" look - for me anyway :)

Yeah, that's a Special.  In fact it's his signature model, although I don't know if you could actually go out and buy one.

ah - while I actually quite like a lot of his vids, Im not sure Id want his name written on a guitar I owned - and TBH that applies to any artist
