Hi..does anyone know if they are still open? They have a guitar body of mine and Im struggling to get a hold of them. Social Media doesnt work, phone number etc...

I looked through their window a couple of weeks ago after getting a haircut next door....they were closed and looked to have had a change round with guitar bodies and necks piled up near the front window. To be fair it always looks disorganised in there. Good luck getting hold of them.

@krameree - how long ago did you leave your guitar body with them?  Was it pre-October 2021?

The shop certainly didn’t go out of business in October 21 as it was open last time I drove past about 10 days ago. 

Perhaps they started a new company or are now operating as sole traders.  

I’m on holiday but will have a look at the weekend and see if they are open.

Cheers Munckee, I left it years ago but live up in Surrey so not been down. I personally wouldnt recomend using Kouga for anything. Happy to go into detail if anyone needs further info just PM me..

Visit the premises. Ask for your property to be returned to you there and then. 

If the proprietors decline, as you leave, mention Trading Standards.

It may not be sinister in itself.

I think a company can trade as one thing but be registered as another.

(eg. Kouga Guitars Limited closed and Kouga Musical Instruments Limited started.)

It's possible the company ownership changed, so they dissolved that company and created another.

OTOH, dodgy firms can shuffle about companies for less honest means (create a company, siphon off the profits, go bankrupt, create another company and buy the original for a quid, etc.).

That said, there are updates to the Kouga Guitars Ltd Facebook page this year, so they are still presenting as that.

Didn't manage to get to Gosport over the weekend, have stopped outside the shop this morning.  It was too early to be open but the lights are on and there is quite a bit of stock in the shop.  It does appear to be going through some changes, if anyone has been there the desk for accessories etc on the right as you go in has been moved to the back and the repairs counter has moved to the right of the entrance.

There was a ladder up so they look to still be moving about but nothing to suggest not open for business.

Well you'll be pleased to know @krameree they were open today day when I went past about 1 p.m. I saw one of the female employees outside sucking on fag. They had a sign on the pavement saying they were open as well. By now you might already know this!

I went there today but there was a closed sign and the windows & door were all papered over from the inside.

Looks like they have closed...never got the body back even though I was promised it many times...the chap we ran the place was Andrew Wheeler, I would avoid doing business with him or anyone associated with Kouga guitars...thanks for the update @prowla
