CFHCFH Frets: 463

Bought from the inimitable @DB1, this is a very reluctant sale. This is an absolute dream of a Gretsch with all of the improvements that come with the Players Edition. It’s an exceptional player and sounds simply lovely. I have really enjoyed owning this.

Very good condition, with OHSC and all the case candy. This one also has had a TruArc bridge (original included) added which works very well with the Bigsby and makes quite a noticeable improvement to the sustain and tone.

Here’s a nice demo:

And here’s what Gretsch have to say:

At the intersection of innovation and tribute, you'll find the G6118T Players Edition Anniversary™ Hollow Body with String-Thru Bigsby® — a guitar that honors its inspirational past while remaining firmly rooted in the future of music. Engineered for optimum performance and responsiveness, it reacts instantly to your every musical move, not just earning, but demanding a place in your sonic arsenal.

The all-new FT-67 Filter’Tron™ humbucking pickups were designed to capture authentic vintage Gretsch voicing but with a more well-rounded tone for modern playing styles. This powerful pair of pickups provide open and pristine top-end chime, glassy midrange, robust low end and balanced harmonics for tone that blends seamlessly with other instruments. The innovative Gretsch “ML” bracing delivers huge hollow body sound from the comfortable 2.5”-deep maple body. The control complement — separate bridge and neck volume controls, three-way pickup toggle switching, no-load master tone and master volume — allows for infinite tonal variations. Our “Squeezebox” capacitor adds smooth vintage tone while the all-new treble bleed circuit lets your guitar retain all of its tasty clarity when rolling the volume control down.

A 12”-radius rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges and 22 medium jumbo frets top a 24.6”-scale maple neck with a comfortably familiar standard “U”-shaped profile for fluidly easy playing. The Bigsby B6CP vibrato tailpiece and Adjusto-Matic™ bridge combine with the Graph Tech® TUSQ® XL nut for maximum tuning stability. The Bigsby tailpiece is now string-through, making it quicker (and easier) to change strings, as well as providing increased vibration transfer for enhanced sustain.

A finely tuned modern music machine, this guitar features the vintage Anniversary appointments Gretsch fans desire — from its two-tone finishes (Copper Metallic/Sahara Metallic with silver pickguard or Vintage White/Walnut Stain with a tortoise pickguard) to nickel hardware including Gotoh® locking tuning machines and G-arrow control knobs to the white bound body and F-holes and striking pearloid Neo-Classic™ thumbnail inlays.

Designed to instill complete confidence from tailpiece to tuners, the G6118T Players Edition Anniversary Hollow Body with String-Thru Bigsby can be trusted on every song, every night for powerful sound, tonal flexibility and full control of that classic Gretsch power.

I’m looking for £1600, collected (West Yorkshire).

Bought recently off the forum but have my eye on something else so last in, first out this time!

That said, it is a very high quality guitar built by hand by one of Englands best luthiers, James Millman. There’s no parts-caster-ing here!

Modern C shaped neck, nicely rolled edges. Frets feel like 6105.

One piece ash body, very smooth oiled satin finish.

Glendale steel saddles, Callaham neck plate.

Comes with an excellent mono gig bag.

Currently loaded with McNelly a2 signature pickups.

Few dings here and there on the body, but the neck is spot on.

I’d like what I paid for it which is an absolutely stonkingly fair £500 without the pickups. If you want those too, I’d like £675 which includes a James Home of Tone wiring loom. Can’t say fairer than that for a top quality instrument like this.
