Hi all, Just bought a funny looking strat so...
Up for sale is my Vintage brand Les Paul Lemon Drop Peter Green model with the following upgrades
1. Bare Knuckles Pg blues pickups in relic finish cost £200+
2. Bare knuckle cts pots and caps in 50's wiring and braided hookup wire cost £50
3. Switchcraft toggle switch
4. Switchcraft jack and metal jack plate
5. Kluson tulip tuners
6. Gibson control knobs
7. New pickup rings
8. strap lock buttons
9. Gator Hardcase
Great Guitar with upgrades which sounds ace and great for a backup to your main Gibson maybe. I only play at home some it's never been gigged. I can deliver in south devon for £325 or post for £350. Or p/x for an Acoustic. Sorry about the crappy iphone pics. cheers.Tone

Hi Tone1, nice looking guitar with some great upgrades. May I make a suggested which may help you a bit more. Do you have an idea in your head of the trade value that your guitar is worth as it is worth listing this and also if you list the type of acoustics you are looking for you may get more interest.

Had you considered reversing the upgrades (assuming that you get the original parts of course)?

To sell as-is, you need to find someone that wants both the base guitar AND the upgrades that you've done.  It might be a great combination, but you've made the sale harder because you're aiming at a smaller group of potential buyers.  There doesn't appear to have been any interest here in 2 months, and I'm guessing that you didn't get any interest on the Bay of Evil either.

Guitar looks to retail sub £300, which means the s/h "value" of it in stock condition is sub £200.  I'm guessing in today's market and recognising the other mods, you'd get £150ish.  The p'ups & wiring loom are somewhere between £100-£150 s/h (nice easy drop-in for someone), and the case is probably another £50ish.  So selling those separately, you'd probably get the same money (ish) back, but should be easier to sell.

It's a bit tricksier if you've not got the original p'ups, but you could always look out for some s/h Iron Gears (or similar), a brand that most people would recognise as an upgrade on the standard p'ups but shouldn't cost you more than £35ish.  Clearly, that hits your sale proceeds by £35ish, and there's never any guarantee that it'd work, so it depends on whether you want to sell, or need to sell!

To add to what TTony said, I might be interested in the bare guitar, without the hardcase too, if you did decide to part it out and sell the stuff seperately.

As you say though, no harm in waiting and it's coming up to Christmas too. Let me know if you change your mind.
