Can the Tonex (or Tonex one) act as an audio interface for iOS devices ?
iOS no I don’t think so, for Mac though, yes.

    With mobile app control....
Surely that'll be much easier to use than the Tonex software?
    Hang on, it's IK...

I was just watching a review of it. Looks like it's going to be popular

  • Yeah that'll be good if it works. Wish I could control the normal pedals via phone rather than having to plug into a computer to be honest

If they did that then that would make to new things less appealing

Sadly, I think their business sense means they won't do it but let's hope they do

in fairness to IK they are not alone in this, i wish it for my HX effects as well, the desktop apps have their uses but it's very uncomfortable sat in a computer chair with a guitar while you fine tune on the screen, then accidently use the middle scroll button in the wrong bit and change parameters by accident, knocking your guitar on the chair and the wall. Whereas holding your phone to do it is much easier in many ways

Then there's the TC Toneprint app which stays connected for about 30 seconds, and then manages to not work in a different way each time when it comes to editing

  • Tonex plug and one of rhe VH sets makes the perfect practice setup for me!

    Trying to buy, is difficult.
It automatically is applying a $20 discount code, which can't be used with Jam points.
Biggest discount is 30% with Jam points,  ( $20 shipping ), but payment can't be processed.
Jam points still get used up ( for 2 hours ) when transaction is cancelled.
    Maybe it is really busy??
I like the idea of my full Tonex library being available to edit and swap via the app ( which isn't yet available )
Also like the idea of being able to record direct via USB c ( interface )
Don't really like the way it plugs in, but using a tuner in front of it makes it a REALLY compact pedalboard solution.
3.5mm out is a bit fragile though, but I have a plan.
    Sounds are amazing.

Dug my tonex out today for a play, connected it to my pc and instantly remembered how bloody awkward it is to use - it’s always so long between doing it that I forget and then have to figure it all out again.
I love the sounds in this thing but I hate the software and I don’t like the lack of info on the screen when using it standalone. Much prefer the hx stomp where I can dive in and see what amp/cab is being used.

I’m tempted to move it on and maybe try an fm3.

  • Anybody tried the XSONIC Airstep yet?

Or even the fancy Pirate MIDI thingy?

Tonex Plug looks really cool doesn't it! I use a NUX MPP at the minute and I really love the convenience of this type of modeller. I just have it at the end of my pedalboard so I can still use my Drop and a proper tuner. So easy to set up and play, and having all the settings in an app makes me less likely to endlessly faff around with them. Quite fancy the upgrade to Tonex since captures do sound and feel better than modelling to me, once you find a good one at least! I really liked the Jubilee capture by The Guitar Nerd on YouTube, sounds and feels just like my old amp.
