I mean, I realise that asking people to click four things and write a single sentence is more than nothing, but it meets the contextual definition of "free" because it doesn't cost any money, plus it weeds out the tourists and the bots, and frankly seeing as I'm giving away something that otherwise costs not far off £200 you'd think most people wouldn't find it too much to ask.

Except they do, apparently, because the abuse I've received as a result of this modest effort to promote my tiny little channel is such that I've pulled the giveaway rather than have to deal with any more of it.

Lol, it's two years out of date, and I was thinking I could really do with one of those.

I have done the Les Paul mod three times now, and it can be a right pain in the arse if you get it wrong. Worth it though.

I always put it together on a home made card before fitting in side the guitar, I use the long shaft type of CTS pots and space them with a nut on the inside, and outside. As I might use them on another guitar in the future.

If I'm using a high output pickup I'll swap the CTS carbon ring for a 1m (1000k) as CTS don't make a 1m push pull. Just don't take off the switch part apart, almost impossible to get back together. 

The classic goof is, as you wire it all up, turn it up the right way, you find it's all back to front, ohh no!

The other thing to watch out for is don't use wire that's too thick or to long, gets a bit much with all that spaghetti in there. Especially if a wire gets loose, check with a multi-meter before fitting.
