Hi All,

I'm looking to sell my fantastic ES355 as I need to raise some funds for my next music project. It's listed on the usual sites but I would like to offer it on here and can do a better price if anyone is interested. Please have a read through the deatails below:

2020 Gibson Custom Shop ES355 1959 reissue w/ real vintage Bigsby - Ebony - Lightly Aged.

Bought new from Peach. This one came out of the new Gibson factory, having been one of the early releases of newer era of reissues (may even be the first year). These new ones are supposed to be more accurate and authentic than ever and if this 355 is anything to go by I agree.

This originally had a stopbar (included) but I soon added a vintage 60s Bigsby B7 (work done professionally) and also added a 'custom made' plate (excellent replica) to cover up the stopbar holes. I have since changed this to a more recent gold Bigsby B7 to match the hardware (and allow me to keep my older B7). The gold bigbsy looks even better dare I say it and plays just as fluently. This change in bigsby means I can also lower the price seeing as i dont have to factor in the price of a vintage B7!

Pickups are excellent (Custom-buckers). I felt no need to change those. Nicely balanced with a vintage feel. Again the new Gibson custom shop stuff is really great IMO.

The neck shape is a classic 59, not too beefy not too thin. It's probably the nicest neck I've ever had on any of the guitars I've ever owned and I'll be sad to see it go :-(. The fretboard is genuine ebony not the richlite from previous years. Frets are in great shape.

The guitar is set up very nice thanks to being Plek'd and also due to the set up from the tech I use. Currently has 11s on (a new set of nickel pyramid strings)

All in all it's a phenomanol instrument, very musical and inspiring to play. It's been well looked after and played in nicely. It originally came with a more matt and subtle aged look but has since taken on an even nicer aged vibe with a lovely patina to some of the hardware.

Comes with the Official Hardcase and all the certs and candy.

PRICE: £4300 (down from £4800)

I have priced it compared to the recent custom shop 59' ES-355s, not the older ones with richite, or standard 355s or the BB King versions which in my eyes are all different beasts. The 59s I can find in store with a B7 as of Feb 2023 are AROUND £6499.

OFFERS & TRADES:

I would listen to sensible offers especially if you were inetersted in buying this sooner than later.

I would listen to trades for Rickenbackers (330/360WB/381 etc), Gretsches (Falcons, Gents, Clubs, Jets etc) or vintage Fender Jaguars.

COLLECTION/DELIVERY:

Collection is much preferred but please ask about delivery beforehand if that would be needed. I am based in Central/East London. I know it’s a very large purchase so you are welcome to come for a cuppa, see it in person and give it a proper play.

Let me know if you have any questions or want to know the full spec. More pics or video available if needed.

Cheers

Rob
