How to plug a hole (removing a volume pot)?

What's Hot
As much as I love this guitar, the volume knob is in a hideous position. I’m going to remove the tone pot completely and put the volume pot in its place, but how do I plug the hole left by the volume pot? Does anything exist specifically for this purpose to make it look nice & near, or does anyone have any suggestions of something I could use instead?
Thanks.

As for "when am I ready?"  You'll never be ready.  It works in reverse, you become ready by doing it.  - pmbomb

Not a bad shout. Thanks mate. I’d be more likely just to put it in there to fill the hole as I don’t think I’d ever use the kill switch, but failing any better ideas then it could work.

Those dome top plastic caps you get that push into the bolt holes on furniture can be useful if you can get one of the right diameter.  One of the ones intended for pine-coloured self-assembly furniture wouldn't be too obvious and you might be able to make one more yellow with a felt-tip pen.

  • Leave the knobs where they are and just re-wire the existing tone pot as volume, leaving the existing volume knob as a dummy. Other than the rewiring, nothing else needs to be done and its all completely reversible.

I think he wants to get rid of the intrusive knob though.

Yeah, I would go for that. Looks neat and is reversible should you ever change your mind or sell the guitar.

I've been looking for some for a while for one of my guitars ...

I can see Ian Hislop smirking at this and making some comment about Boris Johnson…
