SOLD - Fender 1997 US Vintage '62 Stratocaster - Shoreline Gold VGC

Took a few bits in trades and this is first to be sold on. Belonged to a friend and has been well played and loved in it's time, multiple gigs and still in pretty fine fettle considering its age.

The precursor to the the AVRI line the US Vintage was the first time Fender really started to get the reissues right and this came along at a time when they'd finally nailed the details.

Good bits, looks great in a fine finish that was one year only at the time, nice RW fretboard, upgraded pickups (originals gone, sorry!) which includes custom made Creamery 69 Classics in neck and middle (RW/RP) and an Eternal S90 in the bridge, theres also a Creamery 64 Classic bridge pickup included which was swapped out for the Eternal to suit the gigs at the time. Pickups were handwired with a staggered radius to match the 10" profile. Trem bar and little tiny spring are still intact, includes the case.

Bad Bits, it's got marks and signs of wear from the years of playing but nothing mental, except some of the lacquer has flaked off on the back of the neck. It's smooth enough and it's genuine relic'ing. It's had a refret with nickel silver Med-Jumbo wire but that's showing signs of wear so could do with a crown/fret job. The fretboard was reprofiled to 10" also when the refret was done. It's also missing the trem cover as it wasn't included when bought back in the early 2000s.

Hard to know where to pitch this value wise, it's had upgraded handwired pickups but needs a crown soonish and the wear and tear, but it's been played because it's a good un!!

SOLD - Suhr Classic Antique Pro HSS 2016

Second guitar taken in trade, a rather excellent looking Surf Green Suhr Classic Antique Pro, in very good condition. These come with a relic finish from the factory so there are lacquer dings and checking but aside from a couple of small dings on the headstock, a small wear mark on the neck and small dent on the upper bout/arm contour there's no other major marks on it.

I've had a pretty much mint shoreline gold RI '62 from 1997 for a couple of years now. It's worth noting folk that they only made this colour on the '62 in 1997 - it is one of the rarest out there on the US vintage 62s (kudos for actually getting that right as well). 

Ya might be waiting a while for another one if you like the colour.

Its also an original custom colour for Fender that is vintage correct for 1962 (was replaced by Firemist Gold in 63). 

Yes it's been tinkered with but it's still a very fair deal.

That strat is a retro price. Amazed it’s not gone already. About £600-800 less than I thought it’d be listed for. Looks great.
