NGD! Fender fun!

photo imagejpg1_zps94af5480.jpg I've never owned a 62 before but they've always been my favourite to look at! Plays great and sounds like a strat should. I'm a fan.

  • Japanese 62 ri, I was offered one of the USA versions but found it hard to justify the extra cost. This ones from 2005.

I would have sworn it was- it's almost identical to one I had. Does it have the Anni sticker on the back of the headstock?

Where did you get it? It doesn't happen to have a very distinctive wood figuring at the back of the neck behind the 8th fret or thereabouts?

Beautiful! A year older than mine. I adore the necks on these.

What pups has it got in it?

    Happy NGD!

Just been getting to grips with the strat. I've never owned a guitar where tiny adjustments like pickup heights, action and string choice make such a huge difference to the tone. The clarity even under heavy distortion is unreal, it's a mega piece of kit.

Something I've started enjoying is using a bright, detailed single coil and a thicker humbucker layered in a recording playing heavy riffs. It means you can pile on the sludge for the humbucker, but the clarity still really cuts through.

I now want a 2 guitar band with a tele and a metal guitar because I reckon it would sound genuinely great.
