Vintage 1959 Fender Jazzmaster, Slab Board, Tortoise Guard, £6850 OBO
What's Hot
Hi all, up for sale is my player grade 1959 Jazzmaster, beautifully refinished to an aged nicotine blonde, and retaining all the key components of original pickups, electrics, key hardware and plastics.
It weighs an excellent 7.2lbs with extremely resonant alder body and typically slim and comfortable ‘59 neck profile, with the coveted thicker ‘slab board’ Brazilian rosewood fretboard, recently refretted and playing beautifully.
This is a truly soulful guitar! Lightweight and resonant with a stunning range of sounds- bell tone clarity, chime and twang from the original black bottom pickups, with a custom wiring of the rhythm circuit allowing use in all three positions.

When this arrived with me it had been modified with a Gibson style ABR bridge and stoptail, so the additional holes were plugged and the original tremolo reinstated along with the vastly superior Mastery bridge, which offers superb resonance and playability.
A cool detail I found was a hand inscribed message dating from 1967 dedicating this guitar to ‘Sandy Brett, Class of ‘69’, so inevitably I dubbed it ‘Sandy’
