If Red Bull are found guilty of over spending by more than 5% and the correct sanctions apply, then Lewis gets title number 8 and a certain Karmic balance returns to the sport

To minimise the fallout they’d go with constructors points deduction - despite being Team Lewis over last years season ender, I cannot imagine the shitstorm that would be unleashed if they took the drivers championship away now. But hey…

It was not.  

Watched the highlights, and it seemed to be long periods of safety car interrupted by brief flurries of ‘racing’.

Hope the gig went well though

Yeah, not one for repeat viewing, that's for sure. The 10 laps with Leclerc chasing down Perez and both of them out of shape multiple times per lap was great but the rest was utterly meh

Yup. I wondered why I was bothering. I’ve always hated the Singapore race, and it reinforced my view.

Singapore is one of those tracks were qualifying can be a spectacular example of driver skill and a completely pointless race.
Just like Monaco.

I thought the entertainment value was ok - each of the incidents threw a bit of tension in there - particularly with each of Max and Lewis having offs - but yes it’s not the a track I look forward to

With the potential for significant penalties applied to last year's WDC the FIA would just be dragging up the controversy of that final race all over again.  No wonder they want this buried.

The FIA informs that the conclusion of the analysis of the 2021 financial submissions of the Formula 1 teams and the subsequent release of Certificates of Compliance to the Financial Regulations will not take place on Wednesday, 5 October. The analysis of financial submissions is a long and complex process that is ongoing and will be concluded to enable the release of the Certificates on Monday, 10 October.

The Financial Regulations were agreed unanimously by all Competitors, who have worked positively and collaboratively with the FIA Cost Cap Administration throughout this first year under the Financial Regulations. As previously communicated, there has been significant and unsubstantiated speculation and conjecture in relation to this matter, and the FIA reiterates that until it is finalised, no further information will be provided. The FIA also reiterates that any suggestion that FIA personnel have disclosed sensitive information is equally baseless.

Sooo... someone has definitely breached the cap and we don't want it overshadowing Max's first proper championship
