I'm out all day today, so I'll be trying to avoid the result and watching the highlights later on. Looks like it's going to be a cracking race!

I'm in a Fantasy F1 league at work, and since I've had Lando and Oscar in my team they haven't managed a 1-2... looks like that streak might continue today confounded lol
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

Bloody hell and they said Norris' title fight was over!

A rare bit of clumsy nonsense from OP

  • Oscar out lap 1! Two unforced errors in two days!

Norris needs a good afternoon here to take advantage

Yeah but Norris isn’t very convincing is he?

McLaren are proper wind up merchants.

I reckon a lot of this out of Norris' hands today. He made the difference for the undercut and McLaren let him down again.

The car just isn't great when downforce is taken off .

  • I saw a few press articles this weekend talking about how they McLaren might be able to sew up the WDC this weekend. Then they promptly go and have their worst weekend of the year!

Chuffed for Carlos to get himself back on the podium again.

Everything else is moot. I’m just thrilled for Williams & Sainz

The whole Piastri thing seems suspicious to me, and then Lando's extra long pit stop again, either the wheels are coming off at McLaren or Ben Sulayem is rigging it to keep things spicy to the end.

I was surprised and disappointed that Christian Horner wasn't in the Strictly line-up. Now what's he going to do?

Well, Oscar absolutely shat the bed - smashing his car up in qualifying and the race, along with buggering up the start - but Lando didn’t exactly capitalise.  Even taking into account pit crew shenanigans, he didn’t look like he was ever in danger of making the podium.  An opportunity to claw back a huge chunk of points lost.

And Max is bringing himself back into contention; he's only 69 points behind...

Well, stranger things have happened to McLaren.  Who would have predicted Raikkonen snagging the 2007 Championship from Alonso and Hamilton?

A swing in car performance can have a big impact too - the the Red Bull seems fast lately (for Max)

You couldn’t call it anything other than a big own goal if McLaren driver doesn’t take it at this point though
    Red ones are better.

McLaren obviously had an off weekend, but Red Bull have got better too - Tsunoda was easily inside the top 10

I suspect Mekies has instructed to set the car up to be a tiny bit less of a handful, which is theoretically slower but means both drivers can relax and drive it better. Smooth is fast etc etc

  • £52 million pay-off for Christian Horner! Nice work if you can get it.

A contract is a contract, Horner was signed up to 2030 and that's price Red Bull have to pay to exit. Horner's lawyers would have been all over the termination clauses over the last few weeks as would Red Bull's.

That's a lot of ad & sponsorship revenue required to back fill that amount.

It's a lot of money but probably less than the cost of losing Ford..!

And unlike cocopops, those numbers would have been crunched to the very last drop.
