£52 million pay-off for Christian Horner! Nice work if you can get it.
     https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/articles/c147p0z1r1po
A contract is a contract, Horner was signed up to 2030 and that's price Red Bull have to pay to exit. Horner's lawyers would have been all over the termination clauses over the last few weeks as would Red Bull's.

That's a lot of ad & sponsorship revenue required to back fill that amount.
Does the pay off, to cover the contract up to 2030, also ensure he can’t work in F1 for another company, during that period - Effectively paying off his knowledge, experience and expertise, during such time

I heard on the radio just now that he's free to get back into F1, and keen to do so as a shareholder of another team, if he can find one.  He certainly has the money to invest.

  • Yeah, I can see him wanting to get into somewhere like Alpine. I'm sure he and Flavio would make a lovely couple to work for. Hard to determine who would be the sleaziest, most unscrupulous arsehole out of the two of them.

If that’s the case, could we crowdfund another £52 million just to keep his smirking face out of F1 permanently?

I'm fine if CH and Flav are in one team - makes it easier to focus the hate rather than spreading it around.

Oh I don't know, they're pretty equal on the arsehole but I think the rest goes to Flav. Who's probably the only person who could take the titles from whinger spice

Edit... hang on. how could I forget Bernie!

Flávio is surely the ‘final boss’ of all those things
    Red ones are better.

  • Another day, another underwhelming performance from Lando. Really can't see him being able to take the fight to Oscar in the back end of the season unless Oscar really goes to pieces somewhere along the way.

Incredible lap by Russell though - should make the first phase of the race interesting!

To be fair Oscar wasn’t much better than Lando, the Mac’s don’t seem to be performing that well this weekend.

    Great lap by George.

I’m going for George takes out Max as he tries to barge through at turn 1, but needs a new front wing and ends up 5th. Lando wins, Lewis gets on the podium, Lance ends up last and throws a huge sulk.

Max and the Mercs looked consistently quick. Got to be between Max and George.

Do we think we can make it to the end of the season without the McLarens having a major prang?

Piastri fans: “Lando is too timid.”

    (Norris gets his elbows out)

Piastri fans: “How very dare he.”

I thought Lando was absolutely fine with that move and clearly quicker than Oscar through the rest of the race.

Equally I totally get why Oscar would be pissed off with it if the internal guidance is "race hard, no contact" - at least until he sees the replays and telemetry

Dull race beyond that but happy for Russell - he beasted it in quali and delivered to perfection today

Given how much slower Oscar was, even with Lando's broken wing, I'd probably keep a bit quiet and just enjoy the party tonight.

I think the onboard from Oscar’s car did look like Norris ran into him, he didn’t when you watched all the footage but I can understand why from where Oscar was sat it felt otherwise.

The dumb arse rules they have come up with are frustrating. Be kind, be nice, Paella rules, don’t race unless there is no danger of anything happening. Senna, Prost, Roseberg, Lewis, Mansell, Piquet it is not. I’m sick of the pair of them whining like little bitches about who did what, why they should be first. Stuff rules. It’s about winning. The constructors is done. Whoever wants to be champion needs to be ready to put the other driver in a wall and not flinch. Lando seemed to realise that a bit today. No giving away first pit stop and he was finally racing hard today.

I thought the move itself was ultimately firm but fair; looking at the onboard footage afterwards I first thought “Oof, that’s a pretty hard shove” - but it then became clear that the contact with Piastri was as a result of Lando hitting the back of a deliberately dawdling Verstappen.

From what Oscar could see I could understand his view that Lando had just barged him to one side - he wouldn’t have seen the impact what Max.
