Jesus. I know we’re in America this week but have they decided to go with a Hollywood storyline to keep the seasons drama going?

This could be a tenser season than I thought it was going to be
    Red ones are better.

It's been a fun one for sure. I watched the F1 movie last night and it's all starting to merge in my head...

I am a little confused now. Driver A makes a bold and audacious move at the race start, tags another car and hits his teammate. The stewards say no foul but the team decide it’s over their line. Then driver B makes a bold and audacious move at the next race start, tags another car and hits his teammate. Stewards say no foul
again and this time the team decide it’s all good.

    *shrugs*

Aaaaaaand once again, Stroll shows that while he can be really fast, he’s not a racing driver that belongs in F1.

They were different incidents. You’ve had to dissolve them down to that level of no-detail to make them the same.

The intent, the element of a car being in the way and the outcome are essentially the same, aren’t they?

I think both drivers have done exactly as they should have, the dice just didn’t roll their way.

Yes, but Yuki still doesn’t seem comfortable. Hadjar is next up and will be in the seat next year I think.

Oscars move smelt of desperation. It’s was needless, stupid and clumsy. Norris has been stupid to but he’s not taken both cars of the race. Paprika, Paella or whatever the hell rules they are suck. Let them race.

Also, I said Max would win the drivers championship because McLaren would pull crap like this. He’s getting closer.

Oscar’s move would have been great if Hulk and Alonso hadn’t both been up the inside

Not his fault, just as Lando’s last week wasn’t his fault - both going for a gap that wasn’t obviously unreasonable imo

Piastri is crumbling under the pressure though isn’t he? Absolutely no where in comparison to Norris all week, and he is acting desperate again. I see a DNF for him. Norris needs to be smart, aim for a clean P2 out of the first corner and race from there.

Hmm, I don’t know about “not his fault”. To me it looked like Piastri swung across really quickly and at a deep angle and just prayed…. but it’s turn 1, why would he think there wouldn’t be other cars on the inside? It looked really clumsy at best…I could understand it more if it had been Stroll pulling a stupid move like that.

If Lando hadn't have been so slow off the line, then Oscar wouldn't have been in a position to try to pass him.  From his mirrors he wouldn't have seen the cars on the inside and the cut to the inside there has worked for others in the past.

I think that McClaren haven't been putting any development into the car, as they have won the championship, which is what they care about, so they are looking to 2026.  Red Bull are improving because Laurent Mekies is an engineer and understands the car more.  Max has said this is making a difference.  Yuki is trying too hard and is getting frustrated (blaming other drivers for his problems).

It will be interesting to see what the driving characteristics of the 2026 cars are like vs the current ones.  Much as I don't like Max, he is looking more and more likely to win as neither McLaren driver seems to have what they need to win a race anymore.

An unfortunate racing incident, which is what the stewards also decided.

That said, McLaren laying the blame on Hulkenberg was a poor show.  At some point you need to commit to your line - which Hulkenberg had, with Alonso on his inside - and Piastri had cut in very sharply and late.  As Nico commented “I can’t just disappear…”

^ I do note Zak has since walked back the Hulk comments. If it’s anyone it’s Alonso, followed by Piastri. Hulk had no other choice if he wanted to even attempt the corner!

Aimed at all equally: when racing drivers say “there was nothing else I could have done” what they mean is “other than stop accelerating so hard, or maybe even braking, which obviously I refuse to do, there was nothing else I could have done”
    Red ones are better.

The nature of the design of these Tilke late-apex wide entry hairpins (which do encourage overtaking, to their credit) is that there is such a gap to the inside, and the apex so late that you can end up with cars almost at 90 degrees to one another.

Tell you what, all the time Norris spent behind Leclerc really flattered Piastri

So I am going to make some predictions for next year.

Max will win another drivers championship.

However, Redbull will be 4th behind Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes in the constructors.

Lawson will be dumped half way through the year. He will be finishing in the bottom 10 every race. Once the panic sets in he will be replaced by an older driver.

Lewis will finish second in the championship. It will get nasty again between him and Max.

Lewis will completely thrash Charles in the team mate battle.

Norris will piss any chance he has of the drivers championship against the wall and Oscar will outscore him.

The worst team will be Sauber who will fail to get a single point this year.

Alonso will announce that 2026 will be his last season.

And my wild prediction is Oliver Bearman will win a race in the Haas.

Well that’s one of those ticked off already.
    Well let’s review:

    -Max looking good.

    -RB 4th.

    -Oscar is still ahead.

    -Lawson dumped from RB.

    -Lewis has let me down.

    -Sauber scream

-Alonso maybe, maybe not but not announced

    -still time for Oli
