Far too many guitars, (and amps and pedals per other posts), so some have to go...

First up is a beautiful and what I think is handmade Navigator 335. Navigator was the top end of ESP etc, made in Japan, and I think this is a circa 1980 / 81 SA120. Maybe a Navigator expert can correct me if I have this wrong - no serial number etc. Set up well, very clean and I believe all original incl ESP LH120 pickups.

Comes with a  generic blond Spider hard case. Anyway, these were the details from Edgware Music where I bought it form a while ago. But at just over 8lb, a little too heavy for me. These come up infrequently, so I am not sure if I have go the price about right at £1750ppg - someone can let me know if that is about right - will throw in postage and insurance at that price (or you can collect from me in East Finchley, London N2 or I will deliver to a sensible distance).

Will consider a trade and cash my way for a much lighter B&G step sister crossroads cutaway w/ humbuckers (Chinese version).

Next up is a MIJ Westbury Standard. Sort of a LP meets an SG. Unusually for these, it's In pretty good nick (a few minor knocks on body and neck, some minor laquer wearing away on neck), looks all original except I think the pots have been upgraded (can check if you are interested). Looks like original dimarzio pickups (worth a few bob on their own) and tuners. Decent set up. Will find a soft case if this sells at £300 ppg plus postage and insurance (or you can collect from me in East Finchley, London N2 or I will deliver to a sensible distance).

Now £275 ppg plus postage.

Am also thinking of selling my Gil Yaron LP, so may list that later. Way too nice for someone who plays like me to own.

Very nice, early navigators didn't have serial numbers, but model numbers, so it does make sense that it's a 1980. I had a 1982 Navigator Les Paul, no serial number, and the logo with the dropped v. It was a great guitar, as I'm sure yours is too. Good luck with the sale, I have eventually regretted selling any Navigator I've sold, but nobody would sell them back to me :)

I have a Navigator S100 that is from 1982; it's essentially the same as the one pictured (the only differences I can see are the metal scratchplate bracket and I have a black tip on the pickup selector). It is an absolutely glorious guitar and the best guitar I have ever played. I would happily pay £1750 to buy one of those now. (at least my one is, I can't vouch for @MikeC 's specific one - I just wanted to share my enthusiasm). Such an underrated brand.

Navigator details updated - John at Edgware music has advised that this is a SA120 model with the original ESP LH120 pickups.

If it was black, I'd have had it as that was my first ever proper guitar and they're fabulous.
    Nice one on the sale

Back up for sale - ebay purchaser was a Westbury fanatic and a right pain in the ass for a cheap guitar and noted that there were some dings and laquer issues (all minor) - it's bloody 40 years old!.

But he did also notice that the changed pots don't work well - they taper off too quickly. So I'll drop the price to £240 to reflect work that will need to be done here.

  • What's the neck profile on the nav like? Thx

Nut width is 43mm so vintage Gibson, but neck is a comfortable / slightly thin C profile.
