I haven't seen these before - the Pickup Selector Switchguard for Strat. 

I'm a real traditionalist so it's not for me, but it's not a bad idea for some people.

    Presumably aimed at players like me who constantly knock the switch, but I'm actually not interested - it's not going to move freely when I *do* want it to.

    Anyway, in the pic the bigger problem with the Strat control layout has still not been changed ;).

    The idea of a side arm solves a problem for me. I like using use a five way superswitch, but mounted conventionally it needs a larger body thickness, and hence weight. A side arm would allow me to mount the switch sideways. Of course, it would then need a curved slot through the body ….
