Getting a guitar body reliced / aged ? *SORTED*

I know the answer will be play it for XX years etc.

But if I wanted to get a nitro finished Jag I have reliced professionally is there anyone that does this that people recommend?

As I say I have a refinished Johnny Marr Jag, it was white but I think it had a problem with the paint coming off as many did, so it was refinished before I bought it. Now it's started to chip again, and I don't think I knocked it (you never know, but I'm 90% sure I didn't) So  I was thinking of getting a heavy-ish relic job done on it.

That is not true.

I am not a lover of relied guitars but before I got chance to mention it, dazzajl already had. Scott at GoldenEraGuitars are the best I have seen. Go on his website, fill in the form, leave your Email and he will get back to you in a few days.

Appreciate that everyone. On this occasion I would tell the OP to leave it as is and play it. If it has started to chip then that is what any nitro finish will do over time with usage. I only age my own finishes too, so the body would need a refinish first.

I have seen @GoldenEraGuitars 's stuff and it's very nice indeed... and being an ex- NI resident (I spent a big part of my life in Ballyclare and Belfast) it's great to see it comes from that part of the world! But as mentioned I was pretty sure they didn't offer an ageing of existing guitars service.

To be honest I will probably just leave it and see what happens, I might wake up one day and the finish will have flaked off then it will be off for a full refinish.

I dont work on pre existing finishes, you’d be a brave man to offer that as a service! For me, a refinish would be essential.. then ageing. 

And Ballyclare? My commiserations

That is not true.

Kind of depends on the nitro you use: Nitro Cellulose or Nitromors
