Someone just reversed into my Transit whilst I was parked.

Admittedly, it is an unfortunate popular abbreviation that I don't like to use too frequently, less people get confused.  I think it is fairly derogatory abbreviation for a extremely manly vehicle anyway.

For example, innocent narratives such as these can be so easily misinterpreted :

'I'm knackered, I've been working on the head of my tranny all night long, but he is still leaking.  I am so tired, my Tranny kept me up all night, he is a real pain in the arse, but I still love him'.

And I see the main event is at Gaydon this year, with "a sting in the tail".

How often do you get to hear someone saying "I'm taking my Tranny to Gaydon"?
