Hey guys,

Had my Haako for a couple years now, and before you ask it's 100% genuine and not a clone.

Ive noticed an issue recently, it seems to no longer be able to make nice shiny joints, they are coming out dull and dont flow in the same way they used to. I've tried leaded and unleaded solder and I only use high quality stuff from RS. I have a brand new Antex I use as a backup and thats been just fine.

The Haako takes longer to get to temperature than it used to and I have tried multiple new tips of all sizes, maybe my element has gone bad? I was previously running it at 420C for unleaded solder (now gone right down to 375C) so maybe long time at high temperature has cooked it?

Thanks lads

Elliott

Fixed it, did the correct tests as described in the manual (sorry didnt read it first) and it was all in tolerance other than the pin 3 - tip tests, cleaned up the parts as direct and got it back to the normal levels of resistance and now it seems to be performing as it did.
