Wanted kids electric guitar

After weeks of insisting he wanted a drum machine and me telling him there’s no future in playing the drums. My 10 yr old has finally seen sense and decided he wants an electric guitar for Christmas. He’s left it a bit late. Anyone got anything ?

I have a red Squier Strat mini with rosewood fretboard and kinda aged pickguard. No damage, just regular play wear, tuners were upgraded to no name diecast sealed ones as the stock ones on these are rubbish. Had it restrung few months back, polished frets (no fret wear), setup to be played comfortably by a kid and... it's been sitting in a gig bag since then as lad asked for a Les Paul. 

I see them going for around 80 quid on marketplace, can do 70 delivered. Gig bag is a bit tatty but would protect sufficiently in transit.

At 10 years old, isn't he (almost maybe) big enough for a full-size guitar?

I did wonder if he should go full size. I m guessing shorter scale length.

Thank you all for the replies. Sadly the lad has had a bit of an issue which is gonna put Christmas off for a bit. Hopefully in the new year we ll renew the search when things are all normal again.
