I don't think there has been an official announcement yet, just a quick teaser on Instagram and this video.

No fx loop, USB midi only. Basically following on the Tonex footsteps but at least with balanced outs.

No effects. Gutted. The delays anreverbs are great on the Kemper.

The blurb on Andertons says:

"The Player’s signal chain comprises of 4 effect blocks in addition to the amplifier stack. Up to two effects can be placed "pre" the amp stack, and another two "post" the amp. The post-amp modules of the effect chain are ideal for delay and reverb effects. Both delay and reverb offer "spillover" at any time, meaning the sonic tail is not cut off when changing to another Rig."

Hats off to Kemper. This is pretty good for original kemper owners. If they brought out Kemper 2.0 then used values would have plummeted. This way a used full fat kemper for about £1k looks okay value considering you get twice the effects slots and the capability to profile (plus a screen blah blah)

After a browse through the manual, it seems that the effects available on the Player are a cut down sample and not the extensive list. No Kemper Drive, for example (though that’s no great loss). Also, I want to feed my delay pedals into it (in stereo) and record via USB…with no fx loop, I can’t do that, so I think I’d still need a full fat Kemper.

Looks pretty cool, I'm interested for sure. No FX loop is a shame but since it has reverb and delay it's probably fine without it. Not sure if it's worth it over a HX Stomp/XL for a similar price though.

Seems an odd product tbh, unless its a toe in the water for a more comprehensive unit with fx loops etc

Ok that's fair. Sort of an HX Stomp but with Kemper tech I guess? I'm not sure anyone makes a mid-sized (and priced..) unit with all the I/O bells & whistles?

Maybe the Quad Cortex but that ain't cheap. I guess noone of the companies want that to canibalise sales from their flagship units. 

I'll be honest and admit I'm considering a full-fat Helix again for a specific project...
