How would you set about playing a sloooow isolated beautiful guitar note.....how would you play/practice/execute such a note
what's your approach? Playing SLOW is hard BTW....well, for me at least

  • Record it using a bank of Plexis at full chat through a wall of 8x10s in the studio, then reamp it through a Princeton with a tasteful bit of reverb.
    This one goes to eleven

I use the trem a lot to bend into a single note and drop from the fretted note ....also to add vibrato after the note is sounded ..

I'm all about the feedback from a semi or hollowbody guitar (or a pedal if you prefer) and a 1/4 bend with vibrato.

This is probably my favourite single note example -

The note Slash plays at 00:04 in

I often to major scale super slowly to focus on attack and release dynamics.  It’s a lot harder than I expected.

Let the note ring a bit before adding vibrato

Listen to James Labrie singing the note “stay” at 7:08, and do that on the guitar.
