Vintage 1963 Gibson SG/LP Standard, Player Grade.

What's Hot
Up for sale is an exceptionally killer sounding and playing vintage 1963 SG/LP, in beautifully road worn, but mostly original condition.

Here’s a rough sound clip as a taster:

And another:

This is the most desirable George Harrison spec SG, with the fat late ‘50s style neck profile and long nickel Vibrola.

This guitar has been played TO DEATH, with the neck burnished to smooth mahogany in the cowboy positions from thousands of hours of play, and one strum will tell you why!

It has the ubiquitous SG heel repair which was once over zealously addressed with half a dozen tiny screws (and played as such for many years!), which have since been plugged with mahogany and touched up, and there’s some evidence of one of the headstock wings being re-glued, but there’s no neck breaks and the guitar feels exceptionally solid and resonant.

Pickups are the original double black lead, purple enamel winding, PAF spec PAT No in the bridge position, and the neck is a later ‘60s PAT decal T Top, and both sound STELLAR in combination with the original Centralab harness.

The bridge is a mid ‘60s chrome ABR, and the rest of the hardware is period correct, and the guitar comes with a modern flight case.

A brand new Murphy Lab ‘64 Reissue will run to £6500, and a clean ‘63 £16-20k so this is a great opportunity to get a genuine vintage early ‘60s, original finish/parts example which is ready to gig, record and go to work!

Price is £8750 OBO, and please PM with any questions and offers, and I’m happy to ship this anywhere this needs to get to pro packed tracked.

Thanks for looking! J@S.
