Realise this is a bit of a hot topic ATM due to folks struggling to get decent sound out of the Tonex at gigs and all.
Just wondering what captures people are using?
I only own the software but did pick up a few of the Amalgam capture packs; the 57 Tweed Deluxe, Matchless HC30 and the splendid Tone King Imperial which is a wonderful set of sounds and I could live with just these if need be.
There seems to be a lot of love for the Amalgam stuff and I've heard mention of the Marshall Superbass being good. Any other sellers I should look at? My tastes are "spoiled clean" into low gain and moderate crunch. No high gain or any of that nonsense.
I'm still learning with this but I love the sounds, albeit just through monitor speakers at home. I am considering picking up the pedal at some point just so I can access some nice sounds without having to turn on the PC.

I don't really go anywhere else but Amalgam now. Have tried some others but his just work for me straight out the box and I love the tones.
Some of my favourites:
For Marshall, the Superbass or JC800 are both great for a bit more gain but also love the JT100 for a cleaner version.
For superb cleans, I adore the Two Rock SSS (TRCK SSS) with the Two Rock Custom Reverb (TRCK CRS) a close second for a more rounded tone.
However, for me the real beauty has been found on some of the vintage and boutique combos.
Fender Blonde Bassman (FNDR BLBM) and Fender V-Front Super (VSUP) are magic for clean to break-up but,
Bartel Roseland (BRTL RLAND), Swart (SWRT ATS) and Carr Mercury (CRR MERC) all have something special going on so if you like the Tone King, you'll love these.
Keemosawbe is very good as well as Big Hairy Profiles.
I've found the bright variation works well for me but that's to help cut through with another guitarist playing distorted rhythm tones (he just uses a jcm800 amp).
I should mention I'm only using the tonex to play ac/dc and the darkness songs, I use my quad cortex for gigs that need more varied sounds and effects.
Any eq changes at gigs are done on the desk but a little low cut to stop the mix getting muddy is all that's been needed.
I haven't experimented with adding pedals to the tonex yet - just a shure wireless and the tonex is all I use. I've used captures that include a boost from amalgam instead. Good to know it works with pedals before it. Those captures do respond well to backing off the volume I agree.
I probably don't need too many Plexi sounds, although when I explore what's out there, I forget how good they sound for clean and lightly driven tones.
Thanks all for the many suggestions, which I'm working my way thorough. Even the free stuff gets me mucking about for hours so it's a long process!
