Basic question about stereo blocks in modellers

Hi all
I've just started looking into buying my first modeller but something isn't adding up for me.

A lot of the products I've looked at have stereo delay options but very few have stereo reverb, which makes me think if you're running a reverb at the end of chain, you'll lose any stereo spread you had earlier in your chain. BUT loads of users seem to be getting stereo sounds. PLUS I just watched this Studio Rats video where he places a reverb that is only mono input after his stereo delay but it still pans left and right in my headphones (link should take you to the right part in the video, 00:08:03).

Can anyone shed any light? Am I being stupid? (It wouldn't be the first time)

  • Most modellers will give the option to run most blocks in mono or stereo, that includes Reverb.

That's what I thought, but when I checked the GX100 manual it says it mono in, stereo out. Maybe there's been an update between the manual being published and that video being made.
