New laptop suggestions

I'm using a Toshiba C660-155 which I've had for around three years which Is getting tired. There's no point in me researching 'what's the best laptop' when there are so many knowledgable people on here I can ask. I use it mainly for my studies, Internet, occasional audio recording and video editing. My budget is around £400, any suggestions ?

Most hps are brilliant, I wouldn't bother with Toshiba as the last few years they have become quite poor, you can't really go wrong with Asus or acer,

If someone suggests HP slap them very hard until they suggest something that works properly.

Asus are ok, so are Lenovo. Everything I've read about Acer suggests they are crap.

Never touch a budget HP. Cooling is appalling. We long since stopped buying at work to. These days it all lenovo

My Samsung is great !
Very well built and works well.
My son used 'pc specialist.Co.uk' to have his built to his spec.
They are excellent. Customer service like no other I've ever experienced.

A leftfield option here, what about a secondhand MacBook Pro, plenty of 15" MBPro's to be had that will run Mavericks/Yosemite for £400 or thereabouts
