Gibson Flying V

What's Hot
Now, I'm a V-man, my '67 Reissue is my favourite, and gigging guitar. I love it, although I don't know why. It looks awkward, but feels so comfortable to me. But I'm afraid I cannot get my head around the price being asked for this -

Needs a new pickguard. That one is broken in two places.

Given that it can't be worth any more than fifty grand.

    lol

Yes, it's rare, and a couple of famous players played them.

    But not that one...

Apart from anything else, it's not korina.

  • As Philly said... 67s weren't Korina.

... and that price is stratospheric!

Neither is it an Explorer ;). That's just keyword spamming, to be fair - it says mahogany in the listing.

  • Needs a Bigsby. Otherwise 98,999 is as high as I'd go.

To be fair, $99,999 is only £62,181.

Isn't three or four thousand about the going rate for a tidy '67 Flying V? It's not even perfect, look at the scratchplate!

I'm another V fan though, love them. Here's mine:

    It's just rarity.

I remember these. There were a few knocking around (second hand) in the 70s. I thought construction/quality was very similar to the late sixties Sg that I bought for £130.

Well it is purty, but for that money I'd want one without all the scratches and stuff.

Couldn't agree more, even my old trusty V, which I bought from a recording studio, has less dents.
