One of these awesome offsets popped up locally yesterday in my favourite colour, it'd have been rude not to, so...
This continues my on-going love affair with quirky Yamahas when they weren't afraid to be different. Unlike the recent SA-60, this one's a newer reissue (~2000) of the original 'Flying Samurai' series. For a 20+ yo guitar it's in great condition, albeit in need of a decent clean. I'll make a new pickguard for this soon too, I feel it's a bit of an unassuming guitar at the moment so something pearled or sparkly is needed to make this one stand out a bit.

@HarrySeven - how many SGVs do you already have then? I'd love to get my hands on one of the originals at some point
Now I'm going to buy one.
Is that a very wide range humbucker or two close mounted single coils?
Two close-mounted SCs - the third pot is a center-detented blend pot for them, with the 3-way toggle then giving you all sorts of options. Personally I'm just glad that the 'middle' pickup is moved towards the bridge enough that it doesn't interfere with my playing style now - the bridge and neck also sit more proud from the body than on a typical bolt-on design, so that feels much more natural for me coming from mostly playing carvetops and TOM-equipped guitars these days/
As per the SA-60, this one's largely been bought in for upcoming build 'inspiration'. I'm planning to offer something akin to this once I get my workshop up and running this spring.
I remember those from our InterMusic days - the collection looked awesome!
