Finally got round to giving my '87 330 some much needed TLC; String change, fret (what's left of them) polish, board clean-up, nut and bridge slot clean up.... I'd rushed all the setup when I bought it and it had been a filthy old bird.... anyway, finished the job today and sweet jesus it's glorious.

Im a fully paid-up member of the "bad guitars dont get played to death" club, so will always gravitate towards the ones with loads of wear.

    Trtying a new Cogmeister as a 2 channel 70's distortion into a 5e3.

The far left channel with gain full and volume low is a nice light dirt for a clean neck pickup, then engage the rangemaster & drive for hairy distortion thats 30% fuzz & 60% clipping overdrive. Works brilliantly so far and for a dirty overdrive that's raw, beats out a bunch of polite overdrives (TD-X, Supreaux & liquid sunshine) yet it's still different enough from a tubebender that the tubebender clone on another board will stay.

I forgot to post yesterday but new OX4 pickups in my Navigator 335 and wow the clarity is amazing! No more muddy neck pickup.

Used a Timmy clone with the gain 3/4 up and rolled the volume off for epic clean tones with sustaining feedback which is so much fun with the Ceriatone OTS which was nice and loud!

Did a bit of facelift and maintenance work on the recently added History ZLS90

changed the knobs and replaced the (broken) creme pickup-frames

and played her for a while

I've pulled out my cheap & mid priced Customs - played each of them for a while - and took a groupshot

Been playing a bit loud tonight!

My opinions in context: I rarely gig and don't play guitar for a living. I record my own music for a non-profit org's research and education videos. I have modified or built most of my equipment and I owe a big debt of gratitude to many people on this forum (you know who you are!).

Well other than the VOX Organ Guitar all my toys got a play yesterday to check the weather change hasn’t caused any problems.
Chapman Bea Baritone, PRS SEs: DGT, Zach Myers, Bernie Mardsen and Special Semi Hollow. And finally the Charvel DK24 Rick Graham.
All are playing fine and I spent a bit of time with the Source Audio EQ 2 tweaking the sounds of the DGT and Special Semi-Hollow plus the Bea.
I’ve decided to stop changing pickups and just EQ any issues away. Works well but the Bea sounds nothing like the Silo equipped version.
All played into the AM4/VP4 combo. Sadly, mainly through headphones as others were around the house. I did get an hour through the FR-12 at low volume but that changed nothing.

Compared with the piece of shit Vintera Roadworn I bought and took back to Andertons the same day it's like it came from a different company.
Wow - what was wrong with it???
