This sounds lush, not a terrible price (~£1k) either:

Definitely an interesting one, might have to have a look....

I think the boring dentist thing becomes ever less relevant.

I can't think of another brand who make so many great value stripped down gig machine products as the modern day PRS.

20 years ago it was all swimming pool quilts, but they are much more a "reliable tools for working musicians" company that Gibson are at the moment.

It's a nice sounding amp. From the demo it seems somewhat like an AC15 or Matchless type amp.

Nope, it needs to be quoted for eternity along with all the other false tropes :)

It`s funny, I have no interest in PRS guitars, but I`m really quite taken but the HRDX 20 and now this - they just looked well thought out, developed and built for regular gigging guitar players in pubs, which is what I very much am!

Oh I quite agree, that was very much a /s title.

DGh used an AC30 for quite a long time in the studio, so it's no surprise that his sig. amp ended up being similarly voiced. I do like the 'verb and term on this one too, it's quite the tempting package.

So far I have only watched one demo and seems interesting. Surprised it doesn't have an effects loop.

I saw this earlier - honestly looks and sounds fantastic. I'd love a better colour than cream, and a combo version though.

Assuming these are not made at PRS USA?

They're beautiful looking, but the couple of demos I've heard so far, they sound a bit dark.
I'd definitely like to try one in person, but I'd need a touch more top end, which is odd from a Vox based EL84

I think all of their amps and cabs (barring the HDXR50 + 100) are made in Indonesia now, except for any limited release/Private Stock models which would be done by Doug Sewell & co.

  • Had my HDRX20 in the recording studio alongside my AC50 this weekend, bloody brilliant amp for the money.

Me too. I'm neither a dentist, PRS fan or DG affectionado. But this looks really good.

The world works in mysterious ways! :-)

Don`t get me wrong - I don`t dislike PRS guitars, they`ve just never really appealed for some reason! Although, again the recent DGT goldtop SE looked really good. And I had (and really still have) no idea who DGT is.

At some point in time I may need to take a leap into the PRS shaped unknown............
