My dads iPhone has stopped working so I said he could have my 6 plus as I only use it for telling me how far I’ve walked & taking pictures I’m one of those weirdos who doesn’t use a mobile.

anyway I needed to unlock it so he could put his talk talk sim in as it’s vodaphone.
i did a google & mobile unlocks seemed good . It’s prices from £7.99
i entered the imei number and paid & it went through a process of checks . It then said it’s ready to unlock & will require £26 !!! To go ahead . Bloody scam 

I bet they’re all the same . Bloody mobiles are nothing but a pain in the arse . £11.99 down the swanny

Bit late now but if you’d called Vodafone they would unlock it for free.

Arghhhh , it’s still locked so that’s an option. I only thought they unlocked newer models

Unfortunately, we can't unlock your device if you didn't buy it directly from us, for example, from Carphone Warehouse.

It does make the point that since 2021 it has been illegal to network lock a UK mobile to a provider.
Hope you get sorted without bastards ripping you off further
