Wem Clubman late 70s.

Just picked up a late 70s valve Clubman, been in a mates shed, damp and not been played for years. He rang me up said it’s noisy hums badly and stinks. (Bit like some drummers I know). And could I have a look at it. So I told him not to turn it on again and pop it round. I thought it was a SS amp but opening it up it has a Mullard ECC83 and Mullard EL84. Caps looked a bit buggered so replaced them all for safety and made sure it was thoroughly dry and clean. Swapped out a couple of wires which went very close to valves and looked like covering was very brittle so rerouted and replaced.
Then turned amp on and sounds sweet as can be. It’s not like a fender,Marshall or Vox tone, slightly drier and more hifi. Treble if turned up past 6 can be very cutting and sharp, but overall, a nice plug in a play amp. Certainly louder than a champ equivalent, ain’t tried it with pedals yet,
Overall a nice inexpensive amp with its own charm.
