Help needed for MIDI drums mapping in Reaper

So, the next problem my drummer pal is facing is mapping the MIDI messages I'm sending from Logic in a MIDI drum track and matching the piano notes in my MIDI file up with the drum software in Reaper - he's using Superior Drummer, I think. Some drums map properly, but others don't. My Logic snare hits don't give him the snare, but kick drum hits do.

He's very new to Reaper. Can anyone help? Where can he find a translation table or an easy way of editing the MIDI track? I've sent him the mapping table from Logic, so he knows what drum hits they're supposed to be from my end, but he's struggling at his.

I'd encourage him to join the Reaper forum, there is a search function on there, and I'm sure there are maps for all the common drum software, and text files to use in the midi editor for named notes.
It can be useful to make a copy of the midi drum track in Reaper, and then the notes can be consolidated on one big midi track- this can then be exploded into single note midi files, which could possibly make editing a lot easier-ie, if a snare is not hitting where he wants- it is easy to drag all the snare hits onto the correct key--it can get a bit messy, and I'm sure there might even be some sort of translation plugin available in the Reaper stash.
I have similar issues when I use superior, or any other midi with my current choice of VST, Ugritone, seems they all like to make the midi into a different language-possibly to avoid piracy?? Maybe??

Ta. I'm keen for him to get up to speed ASAP, as his e-drums are in his studio, not mine! :-) If you have a Reaper forum you use and would recommend, would you copy back the URL for me, pls?

I'm already splitting my MIDI drum track into several single-drum tracks for him. Are you saying there is an easy Reaper-based tool for doing it so that I can be lazier and stop having to? Fingers crossed... :-)

I'm giving him a stereo audio track, too. My software drumming is merely a guide for him to replace, but we're still working out a workflow that we like.

I've just checked and there appears to be map for Superior Drummer in Reaper stash. But I think you need to register first. Also, I think it's a separate registration to the forum.

    It's not a competition.

There is this as well, but I've not actually used it. Although I might in future.

    sure,
    https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=291108&highlight=superior

Highlights somebody who is trying to do a similar thing.
Another post mentions a plugin called MidiMapper, which might be available via Reapack, which is an add on to Reaper that provides thousands of additional plugins / actions etc.

also, there may be something in SWS extensions, another free add on, available via Reapack.

All worth having on your system anyway.
