1973 vintage Traynor YGM3 Reverb in full working order.

It is a point-to-point hand-wired amp built to very high standards - described by many as a cross between a Fender Deluxe Reverb and a Vox/Marshall, it produces a really beautiful chimey/sparkley sound but with a lot more low end thump available than a Fender DR. Surprisingly loud for 20 watts with lots of clean headroom - it has a huge Hammond transformer and runs with 2 x EL84 power tubes (JJs) and 4 x 12ax7s.

An absolute bargain at this price when you consider the comparative price of a vintage hand-wired Fender, Vox etc

As far as I know this has had no electrical circuit mods, but has had the original (crappy) Marsland speaker replaced with an Eminence Cannabis Rex (a hemp cone speaker that tightens the bass and tames the highs), and some caps replaced. This amp has a lot of bass and treble on tap, and an interesting EQ stack, with a bright switch option = lots of tonal variation in these beauties..

It has also been converted to a semi open back, and recovered in a laquered tweed - never seen another like this, so it's one of a kind! The Traynor badge was missing when I bought it, so I put a Deluxe badge on it (from an old Ford Cortina). Traynors are great amps but usually quite ugly - but not this one, she is a beauty!

Very tidy overall - just a couple of very cosmetic minor points being a few holes underneath the leather handle (from the old handle), a small amount of red marks on the top (not really that visible unless you are looking for it)

It has a spring tank reverb and a lovely, lush built in tremolo. The amp was fully serviced a few years ago and had its caps checked/replaced, but should probably have another check at some point. I haven't used it much recently so it could probably do with a clean and blast of servisol to the pots, and maybe a service, but everything is fully working.

There is a slight bit of "crosstalk" ticking to the tremolo sometimes, which is probably to do with the old wiring not being fully shielded or the way the wiring is routed, but this is easily solved when using a footswitch for the tremolo - I have a (Brightonion) footswitch plugged in on a short lead and tucked away in the back at the moment - when the tremolo is turned off with a footswitch the ticking stops, and when the tremolo is on you don't hear it.

Comes with a Roqsolid, made to measure cover.

Lovely amp - only selling as it it is quite heavy and I have a dodgy back.

Built like a tank with a solid pine cab, it weighs about 20kg and is too heavy to post, so collection from South London only - could SOLD FOR £350 - a very good deal!

Oh you sold it- congrats. Well, not congrats, you was robbed having to sell it for that price. But things are crazy slow right now - I’m doing some mods to my YGM-3 & then making it into a head.

Yes indeed, I needed the space so it was sold at a bargain price to a lovely chap on here - a wonderful-sounding hand-wired vintage amp for half the price of a used Fender Deluxe Reverb (PCB) TM - madness!

Traynors are always a bit slow to sell which seems odd to those of us that have actually played or owned them - maybe it is their size and weight and the fact they are not a USA or UK brand?

I saw you head conversion project - looks interesting, good luck with it.
