I’ve just bought a soap bar super distortion. I’m planning to put it in my Japanese made Tokai ls136 gold top. I was thinking it’ll make me play the guitar more as most of the stuff I play is humbucker driven. It’s also a bit of a homage to a lot of the guitarists I like , who also did that with their 70’s les Paul’s.
but , that means I’ll no longer have a fully p90 loaded guitar !! Will I miss that ? Probably!

    Yes

I had one in a guitar and took it out which was a big improvement.

Over the years, I have subjected my PRS SE One to numerous pickup experiments. I always revert to the Seymour Duncan Antiquity soapbar P90. The guitar always sounds better when I do.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Sounds a good idea to me.  You'll still have a P-90 in the neck position.

Yes you’ll regret it. A P90 in the bridge position is the best sounding pickup in the world.
