The time for wearing the tights has gone up a lot too, especially if the person won't be very mobile for a while.

My wife has just had spinal surgery and she's got to wear them for 4 weeks!

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

"TEDS - ThromboEmbolic Deterrent Stockings" :) They do love catchy acronyms in the medical field, don't they?  What the hell is wrong with "compression stockings".  The idea is that you create a name that's too much of a mouthful to say and write/type all the time in order that a clever acronym becomes necessary.

    Hope the surgery goes well.

Been SOP for many years now. Known as 'TEDS' - ThromboEmbolic Deterrent Stockings. Yes, to help prevent blood clots in legs - though the end should cover the toes rather than restrict around the foot mid-section.

    Not exactly a fashion statement.
I had to wear them for a few weeks - I forget how long exactly - when I had varicose vein surgery last year.  They're green.  It's like Robin Hood - Men in Tights.

I had shoulder surgery 7 months ago.  If yours is like mine, then it will be very painful for the first few days afterwards.

Make sure you do the rehab exercises they give you when you start physio.

That's good to know mate, was worried you were in Grimsby Hospital. Had a horrible experience there myself. Spire's a great hospital.

    Fancy name = fancy price.

All the best for the surgery.
