recording interface for ipad (to use with Midi Guitar 2)

I know there are dedicated pieces of hardware for ipad such as Irig. I've noticed that the USB adapters still have a full size usb adapter so you then use a ipad camera connect kit. 

If that's the case can I just use my focuswrite scarlett? I use it via usb into my laptop, is it as simple as getting an adapter for ipad or is there some other magic going on?

Yes, you just need the correct adaptor for your iPad.

I found Irig a bit iffy TBH,....I went with Lewitt connect 6.
