Time for me to let this go.

Made in Korea according to the headstock and the serial number dates it to 1989.  I've had it since '98 when I inherited it from a friend and it has hardly been played since and never outside of the house.   As far as I'm aware it hasn't been modified in any way and certainly not in the time I've had it.

The colour is technically white, but it has gained a creamy yellowish hue over the years.  There are a couple of chips and blemishes in the paint which I've tried to show in the photos, but nothing that I would personally consider unusual for a guitar of it's age.  I've no case for it, although I do have the gig bag it came in - that's not in great knick but does a job.

I'd happily record some sounds for anyone interested in it, but a couple of limiting factors would be:  a) I'm no bassist, b) I don't have a bass amp to play it through (just a Marshall lead 12 guitar amp) which might not show it off to it's best.

£200 collection only (Sheffield).  Meet ups considered depending on distance.

Thanks.

Ah, those ones with the strangely shaped control plates. (Some contemporary Epiphone-by-Gibson basses used the same part.

My question is, are the two pickups the same length or is the bridge pickup a few millimetres longer than the neck pickup?
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Hi @Funkfingers. I would never have spotted that but you are correct.  Bridge pick up is about 94mm and the neck pick up is about 91mm.  Is that "good" or "bad"?

    Different lengths are the norm.

Some budget J-style basses come with equal length pickups - usually both short. This can make it difficult to install a replacement bridge position pickup.

The Fretboard is littered with members who need a modestly priced bass guitar for home demo recordings. You should have no difficulty selling yours. :)

Thanks, pal.  Here's hoping.   It'd be good for it to go somewhere it's going to get played regularly, it's a nice guitar.

Sorry, @Reverend, I've not been on the site for a while so have just seen this message now.  I've no box or packing to post it with and since it's not been played in a while I'd really rather any buyer gets a chance to see and plays the bass to make sure everyone's happy.  Hope you've got yourself sorted with something in the meantime.
