Comments
Beautiful vocals, great song.
2nd. Track 5 @AlbertC ; Black swan
Not easy to keep a song sounding uncomplicated, but still great and a really nice chorus.
3rd. Track 4 @IMC1980 ; Don't let them bring you down
Great production, classic rock.
@Colourbox I only voted for one of your tracks as I think it would be a little unfair otherwise...but I'm a massive fan mate.
Difficult one to vote on this time around as i like something about all of them, there isn't any one that's standing out as a favourite as such as they are all brilliant in their own way.
Habanero's thoughtful but concise storytelling. Tony's accurate depiction of a moment in time or a feeling (good job on vocals!). Sporky's imagination and intensity, puts you right in the arcade game zone. imc1980's polished classic rock with great songwriting craft. AlbertC's Very accomplished but subtle style, a lot of movement. Monquixote invoking my favourite video game ever with a really neat composition. Petepassion with the classy playing and so much space. Oh and thecolourbox whining about his usual crap in lofi demo form to lower the tone a bit haha.
I'm not sure when I'll get my votes decided, I'm conflicted at the moment, in a good way, so well done all
5 points - @Petepassion - yes it was glitchy and the guitar is clipping at points but it all added to the charm. Loved the playing and the melody, even liked the "psuedo stereo" panning which gave it a Hendrix feel.
3 Points - @AlbertC - Really nice drive to the track and great performance of all of the parts. Tasteful vocal hanrmonies and a great mix as well.
1 point @monquixote - It was very hard deciding between this one and the videogame inspired track that @Sporky entered, on a different day it could have gone the other way, the house vibes on this one worked for me today as I listened. Nice pacing, good build ups and breakdowns.
3 Points - @IMC1980 - I enjoyed the 90s style soft rock feel with some very good vocals
1 Point - @monquixote - Nice synth composition with plenty of variation in the arrangement to keep it fresh throughout
5pts @thecolourbox (Dear Me) - wins on the emotion of the lyrics.
3pts @AlbertC - Had this as a worthy winner until that pesky tCB showed up
1pts @Petepassion - I've gone for the raw and lofi vibe, suits the track IMHO
3 points : @IMC1980: Classic melodic rock. Solid song, great vocals, beefy drums. You're probably tired of comparisons with G n' R
1 point : @Petepassion : Raw and a bit glitchy. Extreme panning of guitar and vocals. But it works for me. Natural expressive guitar and vocals.
3 points @thecolourbox Dear Me Always love your compositions
1 point @AlbertC Lovely work all round
Quick shout out to @Sporky an entrant that hasn't voted yet.
It was hard, and had several either/or choices to make so I'm sorry to those who missed out on points, on another day or a different mood I might have voted the other way.
5 points - Ttony
3 points - AlbertC
1 point - Monquixote
Thanks all for sharing your work
3 points to Monquixote
1 point to PetePassion
I found the comments in the last thread really helpful.
I'll post the results in a separate thread shortly.
