I have the TTArtisan 27mm and honestly theres not a huge amount in it. Given that the Fuji is 62% more expensive than the TTArtisan, there definitely isn't 62% more quality in the Fuji.

The Fuji is slightly more compact, and the IQ is a little better - but there's still vignetting on both lenses at f2.8; the AF is allegedly faster on the TTArtisan - unless weather resistance is a deal breaker for you I'd really consider trying it. I picked mine up for £80 on eBay!

100% this. They’re regularly on sale at about £125ish too on Amazon or direct from TTArtisan through Ali Express. Very hard to fault the lens at that price (even harder at £80 used, nice find!) when compared to £300 used from MPB.

I’d be getting both the TTArtisan 27mm and the Fuji XC 35mm for less than the Fuji 27mm new and you’d have an F2 with stunning IQ too!

Cheers for the advice, I had looked at the ttartisan 27mm and wasnt sure but the feedback is positive so may go for one. Will certainly save me some pennies! Will take a look on MPB too and see whats there.

Just to add my two pence worth… I was in exactly the same position, I’ve only ever had “proper” Fujifilm lenses and was worried about “buying cheap, buying twice” with the TtArtisan “imposter”. Tried it out for the first time today, and I honestly needn’t have worried. Really
    enjoying it so far!

Thanks for another recommendation on the ttartisan. Im going to grab one. Looking forward to having an af lens in my kit. I’ve been using an Asahi Auto-Takumar f 2.2 55mm 10 aperture blade lens which shoots beautifully sharp images, great for portraits but it is frustrating sometimes as its quite easy to miss focus. Having said that I actually find shooting manual lenses really fun!

Another question - 23mm or 27mm which do you prefer?

The questions is, which do you prefer?

If we're still debating the merits of the XF 27mm (I don't see a 23mm in the TTArtisans catalogue), then it retails about £399 new, I think.  The XF 23mm f2 retails for about £415 new.  Used values are similar for both lenses.

If I was spending my own money, I would spend an extra £16 and buy the 23mm, but my photography is possibly vastly different from your own, so it's entirely dependent on what you need the lens to do for you.

Theres not a huge amount in it in terms of focal length but the size of the lenses you’re considering does change how the camera handles and stores. Either 27mm you’re considering makes the smaller Fuji models pocketable; the 23mm is a more standard size and so less portable.

I have a Fujifilm XF 27mm f2.8 Lens that I was going to list for sale if that’s of any interest?

@Haych I found a fuji xf 23mm WR on ebay for £270 so was wrestling with paying the extra and going with Fuji or the ttartisan 27mm. I ended up ordering the 27m to test out so will see how I feel. Though I think the fuji xf 23mm has sold. I have actually owned the 23mm in the past and enjoyed the lens. I like the 27mm form factor though.

@colourofsound The form factor and portability was one of the main reasons for considering the 27mm. The ttartisan 27mm is nice and compact and I like how light it is on the x-t1 body.

Decided to go for a fuji xf 23mm f2 as it is a better all rounder for photo and video.

Anyone looking to move one on?
