I posted a PRS SE and a Gretsch Electromatic, paid a bit more and got a lovely USA Pro II Strat in return. They solved all my problems in one go. Excellent comms, great photos and a speedy delivery.
I'll share my recent experience: I decided to sell three large bodied semi-hollow Reverends, listing all three on eBay, Gumtree and here. I also contacted a few dealers. Fat Bottom Guitars weren’t interested, Andertons made the lowest offer on all three, GuitarGuitar offered more, but Richtone were the best, especially on the Spacehawk. At that point I discovered SUYG thanks to @Yorkie posting on here. Their offer was highest, apart from the Spacehawk. However, their offer also included sending packaging to me, and collection and insurance. Despite that, they're also open to discussions... so after I added a hard case, the offer was increased to match RT. At this point I noticed their ‘trade bonus’, so I went through their stock, and thought many prices seemed quite reasonable. This puzzled me, as their offers had also been good. Thinking about it, I guess their entire stock comes from used, as do all their sales, so they need to be competitive at both ends.
I’ve been after an HSS Strat for a while, and came close to buying a new one (that plan changed with the re-election of Trump). SUYG had an Ultra in good condition at fair price, so I took advantage of the trade bonus:
Overall, a good experience, communications were mostly prompt, offers good, and their prices seem reasonable (at least in general). The biggest downside was the use of Parcel Force: Collection/Deliveries are done with a whole day window, (but thankfully you can specify days). And their tracking is useless. For the delivery of packing materials, the tracking still said ‘at depot’ in the mid afternoon, so I was expecting them to arrive a day late … and then there was a knock at the door. For the guitar delivery, tracking was stuck at ‘hub’, so I was wondering if it had got lost, but it updated to ‘at depot’ at lunchtime and arrived a few minutes later. So neither delivery ever updated to ‘out for delivery’, as such it’s probably better to ignore it and just hope for the best.
